ओडिशा सरकार ने पूरे राज्य में बेकार या गलत इस्तेमाल हो रही सरकारी ज़मीन की पहचान करने और उसे वापस लेने का अभियान शुरू किया है। जिला कलेक्टरों को सालों से विभिन्न संस्थाओं को आवंटित की गई हजारों एकड़ ज़मीन की समीक्षा करने का काम सौंपा गया है। इस कदम का मकसद विकास और कल्याणकारी परियोजनाओं के लिए ज़मीन की कमी को दूर करना है। तीन साल से ज़्यादा समय से खाली पड़ी या अनधिकृत कामों के लिए इस्तेमाल हो रही ज़मीनों पर अधिकारी कार्रवाई करेंगे। यह पहल यह सुनिश्चित करती है कि कीमती सार्वजनिक संसाधनों का प्रभावी ढंग से जनता की भलाई के लिए उपयोग किया जाए।
