Man Arrested For Damaging Temple Idols

A 40-year-old man, R. Suresh Babu, was arrested by Ambur Taluk police in Tirupattur for allegedly damaging granite idols at a local Vinayagar temple. Devotees discovered the damage during Vinayaka Chaturthi celebrations and alerted authorities. CCTV footage showed Babu entering and leaving the temple. He claimed he damaged the idols because he believed granite idols were against tradition. He has been lodged in Vellore Central Prison while investigations continue.

अंबूर तालुक पुलिस ने तिरुपत्तूर में 40 साल के आर. सुरेश बाबू को गिरफ्तार किया है। उस पर एक स्थानीय विनायक मंदिर में ग्रेनाइट की मूर्तियों को नुकसान पहुँचाने का आरोप है। विनायक चतुर्थी के दौरान भक्तों ने मूर्तियां टूटी हुई पाईं और पुलिस को सूचना दी। सीसीटीवी फुटेज में बाबू मंदिर में आते-जाते दिखा। उसने कहा कि उसे लगता था कि ग्रेनाइट की मूर्तियां परंपरा के खिलाफ हैं। उसे वेल्लोर सेंट्रल जेल भेज दिया गया है और जांच जारी है।
