A multi-state probe has been initiated into an espionage conspiracy involving Navy personnel and civilians who allegedly leaked sensitive defence information to Pakistan Intelligence Operatives. The Counter Intelligence police registered a case on September 9, 2026, after reports of data sharing related to strategic locations at the Visakhapatnam Naval Base and other defence establishments. Investigating teams are examining encrypted communication channels used by the accused and are trying to ascertain if suspects visited Pakistan or planned attacks.
