Times of India · india

Punjab has distributed over 2.2 lakh property cards across 1,377 villages under its Mera Ghar Mere Naam scheme as of November 2. The initiative aims to grant ownership rights in Lal Lakir areas using drone surveys and authentic records. The scheme began on October 7 and is progressing through phased village coverage, with the first phase targeting completion by November 15. This program addresses a long-standing gap in revenue records, enabling residents to establish legal ownership, resolve disputes, and use properties as collateral.
