India To Supply Nepal Electricity After Floods

India has approved the expedited export of up to 654 megawatts of electricity to Nepal for 18 hours daily until December 31. This move aims to help Nepal overcome severe power shortages caused by devastating floods last month that wrecked its hydropower infrastructure. At least 12 hydropower projects were impacted, crippling the country's energy supply, which was almost entirely dependent on hydropower. Nepal, which previously exported surplus energy, now faces significant import needs.
