Goa Village Unanimously Opposes Inclusion in Planning Authority
Times of India · environment
Residents of Curca-Bambolim-Talaulim panchayat have unanimously opposed the inclusion of Bambolim in planning areas under the North Goa Planning and Development Authority (NGPDA). Villagers expressed strong opposition to a recent government notification appointing Rohit Monserrate as NGPDA chairman, citing concerns about illegal construction, infrastructure burden, and lack of environmental impact studies. They argue that the village, comprising agricultural land and fishing areas, cannot sustain further development. Previous attempts to oppose the inclusion through memoranda and resolutions have been made.
