Haryana Launches Digital Traffic Fines With 45-Day Contest Window

Times of India · india

Haryana has introduced a 'Next Gen E-Challan' system for traffic enforcement, allowing violators 45 days to contest or accept fines. Notices will be issued within three days of an offense. If a fine is not contested or accepted within 45 days, it will be deemed accepted. Grievances must be resolved within 30 days, or they too will be considered accepted. This digital system aims to improve compliance and prevent congestion through data-driven policing. The state also operates 27 vehicle scrapping centres to encourage the replacement of older vehicles.
