Turkiye to Withdraw Forces From Iraq Base

Turkiye will gradually withdraw its forces from the Bashiqa-Zelikan military base in northern Iraq and hand over control to Baghdad. This agreement follows a meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Iraqi Prime Minister Ali al-Zaidi on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. Iraq pledged to remove armed groups considered security threats by Turkiye from the Sinjar region.
