Manipur Violence: Protesters Place Bodies Outside CM's Bungalow After Attack

Protesters on Monday placed the bodies of two individuals outside Manipur Chief Minister Y Khemchand Singh's bungalow in Imphal. The deceased were killed by suspected militants near the border of Imphal East and Kangpokpi districts. Angry locals brought the bodies to protest the ongoing violence that has plagued the state since May 2023. Police used tear gas to disperse the crowd, and the injured were taken for medical treatment. This incident follows other recent attacks, including houses being torched and civilians injured.

सोमवार को प्रदर्शनकारियों ने इम्फाल में मणिपुर के मुख्यमंत्री वाई खेमचंद सिंह के बंगले के बाहर दो लोगों के शव रख दिए। ये दोनों लोग इम्फाल ईस्ट और कांगपोकपी जिलों की सीमा के पास संदिग्ध उग्रवादियों द्वारा मारे गए थे। गुस्से में आए स्थानीय लोगों ने मई 2023 से राज्य को परेशान कर रही हिंसा के विरोध में शवों को वहां पहुंचाया। पुलिस ने भीड़ को तितर-बितर करने के लिए आंसू गैस का इस्तेमाल किया और घायलों को इलाज के लिए ले जाया गया। यह घटना हाल के अन्य हमलों के बाद हुई है, जिसमें घरों को जलाया गया और नागरिकों को घायल किया गया।
