Royalty for Ambari Use Justified by Commercial Exploitation, Says Pramoda Devi

Pramoda Devi Wadiyar has defended the erstwhile royal family's collection of royalty for the use of the Ambari during the Jamboo Savari. She stated that the Karnataka government commercially exploits the Ambari through ticket sales for the procession and its use in publicity materials for the Dasara festival. Wadiyar noted that royalty payments for the Ambari's use have been a long-standing practice. This comes after Minister Yathindra Siddaramaiah mentioned the State government paid ₹80 lakh for its use during the recent Mysuru Dasara.

प्रमोदा देवी वाडियार ने दशहरा जुलूस के दौरान अंबारी के इस्तेमाल के लिए पूर्व शाही परिवार द्वारा रॉयल्टी वसूलने का बचाव किया है। उन्होंने कहा कि कर्नाटक सरकार इस जुलूस के टिकट बेचकर और दशहरा उत्सव के प्रचार सामग्री में इसका इस्तेमाल करके अंबारी का व्यावसायिक फायदा उठाती है। वाडियार ने बताया कि अंबारी के इस्तेमाल के लिए रॉयल्टी का भुगतान एक पुरानी प्रथा रही है। यह तब आया है जब मंत्री यतींद्र सिद्धारमैया ने कहा था कि राज्य सरकार ने हाल ही में मैसूर दशहरा के दौरान इसके इस्तेमाल के लिए ₹80 लाख का भुगतान किया था।
