Irdai Reforms May Hamper Growth For Smaller Insurers: ACKO CEO

ACKO CEO Animesh Das stated that the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India's proposed distribution reforms are positive for consumers and the industry's direction. However, he cautioned that uniform expense of management (EoM) limits could restrict growth opportunities for smaller and newer insurance companies. Das noted that these reforms aim to correct existing practices and strengthen the insurance ecosystem for long-term benefit. He also mentioned that the industry has seen stagnant growth for nearly a decade, and these changes could help rectify that.
