IIT-Bombay Suggests Counselling For Exam Violations

IIT-Bombay board member Sharad Saraf has suggested immediate counselling for students caught in examination violations. This proposal comes after the recent suicide of a second-year student, Sahil Wakode, who was allegedly found with a mobile phone during an exam. Saraf also proposed that such students might be asked to share rooms rather than stay alone. Additionally, orientation sessions for parents are suggested to help them understand the intense academic environment and communicate with authorities during setbacks. These measures aim to enhance student support mechanisms, especially during disciplinary incidents.

आईआईटी-बॉम्बे के बोर्ड सदस्य शरद सराफ ने परीक्षा उल्लंघन में पकड़े गए छात्रों के लिए तत्काल काउंसलिंग का सुझाव दिया है। यह प्रस्ताव हाल ही में दूसरे वर्ष के छात्र साहिल वाकोडे की आत्महत्या के बाद आया है, जो कथित तौर पर परीक्षा के दौरान मोबाइल फोन के साथ पाए गए थे। सराफ ने यह भी प्रस्ताव दिया कि ऐसे छात्रों को अकेले रहने के बजाय कमरे साझा करने के लिए कहा जा सकता है। इसके अतिरिक्त, माता-पिता के लिए ओरिएंटेशन सत्रों का सुझाव दिया गया है ताकि उन्हें गहन शैक्षणिक माहौल को समझने और असफलताओं के दौरान अधिकारियों के साथ संवाद करने में मदद मिल सके।
