Rahul Gandhi has directly blamed Union Home Minister Amit Shah for the violence against students. Gandhi alleged that Shah authorised the use of lethal weapons on students. He also stated that the Education Minister's resignation is a victory for students but does not address the larger issues of education and employment in India. Gandhi called for an apology from the Prime Minister.

राहुल गांधी ने छात्रों पर हुई हिंसा के लिए सीधे गृह मंत्री अमित शाह को जिम्मेदार ठहराया है। गांधी का आरोप है कि शाह ने छात्रों पर जानलेवा हथियारों के इस्तेमाल की इजाजत दी थी। उन्होंने यह भी कहा कि शिक्षा मंत्री का इस्तीफा छात्रों की जीत है, लेकिन यह भारत में शिक्षा और रोज़गार के बड़े मुद्दों का समाधान नहीं करता। गांधी ने प्रधानमंत्री से माफी की मांग की है।
