Bombay HC Denies Abortion Plea at 26 Weeks Without Medical Risk Finding

Times of India · health

The Bombay High Court has refused to allow a 32-year-old woman to terminate her 26-week pregnancy. The court cited the absence of a specific medical board finding that continuing the pregnancy would endanger her life or that the fetus has a life-threatening abnormality. The woman sought termination based on a sonography report indicating fetal abnormality and her autoimmune blood disorder. A medical board noted a smaller nasal bone and low amniotic fluid but did not confirm the condition posed a direct life threat to the mother.
