Kids Take Ravana Effigy on Mock Funeral Bier After Burning Denied

In Indore, children in Ward 5 of Jobat town took out a mock funeral procession for a 20-ft Ravana effigy after being denied permission to burn it. Chanting "Ram Naam Satya Hai" and "Jai Shri Ram," they carried the effigy on a bier before eventually setting it ablaze at the Dussehra ground. Police had initially stopped the 'Ravan Dahan' due to lack of permission and safety concerns regarding the chosen location. The Nagar Parishad had already conducted its own ceremonial burning of a larger effigy earlier.
