Kolkata's Deep-Rooted Love for Brazilian Football Set to Deepen with Team's Arrival

Times of India · sports

Kolkata has a special connection with Brazil, a love affair that began with its early football stars and is set to deepen with the arrival of Vinicius Jr and the Brazilian team for a friendly match. The city's fascination with Brazil started during India's golden era of Asian football, drawing inspiration from Brazil's unique playing style and working-class roots. Despite the vast difference in rankings between Brazil and India, the connection is based on kinship and admiration for the game.
