He noted that many so-called investment frauds are not even related to the securities market, with money often lost through mule accounts. Pandey urged investors to verify entities, understand financial products, and invest based on knowledge, not just because others are doing so. With India's capital markets growing and attracting more retail investors, ensuring they understand risks is crucial.

सेबी के चेयरमैन तुहिन कांता पांडे ने चंडीगढ़ में निवेशक जागरूकता अभियान 'प्रोजेक्ट जागरूक' लॉन्च किया। उन्होंने निवेश धोखाधड़ी में वृद्धि को एक बड़ी चिंता के रूप में उजागर किया। उन्होंने कहा कि कई कथित निवेश धोखाधड़ी प्रतिभूति बाजार से संबंधित भी नहीं हैं, और पैसा अक्सर खच्चर खातों (mule accounts) के माध्यम से खो जाता है। पांडे ने निवेशकों से संस्थाओं को सत्यापित करने, वित्तीय उत्पादों को समझने और केवल इसलिए निवेश न करने का आग्रह किया क्योंकि दूसरे कर रहे हैं। जैसे-जैसे भारत के पूंजी बाजार बढ़ रहे हैं और अधिक खुदरा निवेशकों को आकर्षित कर रहे हैं, यह सुनिश्चित करना महत्वपूर्ण है कि वे जोखिमों को समझें।
