The Beed district has been particularly hard-hit, experiencing a 37% rainfall deficit, the worst in a decade. Elderly residents recall past droughts but state the current situation is worse, with dried-up water sources and a lack of work and money. Farmers are witnessing stunted crops, impacting their livelihoods as winter approaches.
