Wildlife Researcher Braved Dangers To Check 3000+ Frogs For Deadly Disease
The Better India · lifestyle
Wildlife researcher Keerthi Krutha dedicated years to studying frogs in the Western Ghats, venturing into forests at night to collect samples. Despite facing challenges like rain, leeches, and slippery terrain, she documented over 3,000 amphibians across 49 protected areas and 19 other landscapes. Her work aimed to detect the spread of a devastating fungus that impacts frog populations globally. Krutha emphasized that frogs are crucial ecological indicators, and their health reflects the overall well-being of the environment.
