Google to be questioned over fake Gmail accounts

Indian police will question Google regarding inadequate safeguards after dismantling a criminal network that created over 500,000 fake Gmail accounts for bomb threats. The network, active since 2022, sent inter-state threats, including one timed before the BRICS summit. Police arrested two individuals and uncovered 513,847 Gmail IDs. This investigation follows previous concerns about criminals misusing Google's platforms for financial scams, highlighting a pattern of exploitation.

भारतीय पुलिस Google से पूछताछ करेगी। हाल ही में एक ऐसे गिरोह का पर्दाफाश हुआ जिसने बम की धमकी देने के लिए 5 लाख से ज़्यादा फ़र्ज़ी Gmail अकाउंट बनाए थे। यह गिरोह 2022 से सक्रिय था और राज्यों के बीच धमकी भरे संदेश भेज रहा था। पुलिस ने दो लोगों को पकड़ा है और 5 लाख से ज़्यादा Gmail ID बरामद की हैं। यह मामला Google के प्लेटफॉर्म के दुरुपयोग को दिखाता है।
