Karnataka HC Stays FIR Against BJP Workers Over Form 7 Applications

The Karnataka High Court has granted an interim stay on an FIR registered against two individuals linked to the BJP. These individuals are accused of submitting 778 Form 7 applications during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls. The court questioned the legal basis for treating the submission of over 50 such applications as a criminal offense. The petitioners, Booth Level Agents, argued they were merely performing their duty to remove ineligible names.

कर्नाटक हाई कोर्ट ने भाजपा से जुड़े दो लोगों के खिलाफ दर्ज FIR पर अंतरिम रोक लगा दी है। इन लोगों पर चुनावी नामावली के विशेष गहन संशोधन के दौरान 778 फॉर्म 7 आवेदन जमा करने का आरोप है। कोर्ट ने 50 से अधिक ऐसे आवेदन जमा करने को आपराधिक कृत्य मानने के कानूनी आधार पर सवाल उठाया। याचिकाकर्ताओं, बूथ लेवल एजेंटों ने दलील दी कि वे केवल अयोग्य नामों को हटाने का अपना कर्तव्य निभा रहे थे।
