A co-pilot on a Flydubai flight reportedly confessed to investigators that he intended to crash the aircraft in Israel. The co-pilot, identified as Hamam al-Hammami from Oman, is accused of attacking the captain with a knife and attempting to bring the plane down. Passengers and crew subdued him, and reserve pilots safely landed the aircraft in Saudi Arabia. Al-Hammami was previously suspected of radical ideology and banned from flying in Oman, yet Flydubai hired him. He has since been sent to the UAE for questioning by Israeli authorities.
