Hindustan Times · india
The Bombay High Court has acknowledged the historical significance of iconic Indian soap brands Hamam and Moti during a two-decade industrial dispute. Justice Sandeep Marne described the brands as "legendary and pioneering," noting their deep connection to Indian culture and traditions, especially Moti's association with Diwali rituals. Hamam, launched in 1931, was recognized as a trusted family soap that predated the modern herbal trend. These observations were made while concluding a legal battle initiated by the closure of the TOMCO factory in 2004, impacting former workers.
