The Kasari-Masari area in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, has been renamed Krishnapuri by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. This locality has historical ties to the family of notorious gangster Atiq Ahmed, who spent his childhood and received his early education there. The area, which was once largely forested, later developed into a residential settlement. It is also the burial site for Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, who were killed in April 2023. The renaming brings renewed attention to the area's past connections and its future identity.

उत्तर प्रदेश के प्रयागराज में कसारी-मसारी इलाके का नाम बदलकर मुख्यमंत्री योगी आदित्यनाथ ने कृष्णपुरी कर दिया है। यह इलाका कुख्यात गैंगस्टर अतीक अहमद के परिवार से ऐतिहासिक रूप से जुड़ा हुआ है, जहाँ उन्होंने अपना बचपन बिताया और शुरुआती शिक्षा प्राप्त की। यह इलाका, जो कभी काफी हद तक जंगल था, बाद में एक आवासीय बस्ती के रूप में विकसित हुआ। यह अतीक अहमद और उनके भाई अशरफ का दफन स्थल भी है, जिनकी अप्रैल 2023 में हत्या कर दी गई थी। इस नामकरण से इलाके के अतीत के जुड़ावों और उसकी भविष्य की पहचान पर फिर से ध्यान केंद्रित हुआ है।
