20-Year-Old Student Dies of Scrub Typhus After Initial Misdiagnosis as Fever

A 20-year-old student at Anna University in Tamil Nadu has died from Scrub Typhus, a bacterial infection transmitted by mites. The student initially suffered from a high fever for four days before being admitted to the hospital, where his condition had severely deteriorated. Doctors initially suspected dengue, but tests came back negative. Subsequent testing for Scrub Typhus was positive, but it was too late to save him. Doctors warn that high fevers, often dismissed as normal viral infections, can be dangerous if persistent and require immediate medical attention.

तमिलनाडु में अन्ना यूनिवर्सिटी के 20 साल के एक छात्र की स्क्रब टाइफस से मौत हो गई है। यह एक बैक्टीरियल इन्फेक्शन है जो माइट्स (कीट) से फैलता है। छात्र को पहले चार दिन तेज बुखार आया था, फिर उसे अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया, जहाँ उसकी हालत बहुत बिगड़ चुकी थी। डॉक्टरों को पहले डेंगू का शक हुआ था, लेकिन टेस्ट नेगेटिव आए। बाद में स्क्रब टाइफस के लिए टेस्ट पॉजिटिव आया, लेकिन तब तक उसे बचाया नहीं जा सका। डॉक्टरों ने चेतावनी दी है कि तेज बुखार, जिसे अक्सर सामान्य वायरल इन्फेक्शन समझ लिया जाता है, अगर बना रहे तो खतरनाक हो सकता है और इसके लिए तुरंत मेडिकल मदद लेनी चाहिए।
