SC/ST Employees Threaten Stir Over 80 Unfilled Backlog Vacancies in Karnataka

SC/ST lecturers and the Karnataka State Government SC/ST Employees’ Association are opposing the School Education Department's plan for general promotions to principal posts. They allege that 80 backlog vacancies reserved for SC/ST candidates have not been filled through promotion on priority. The association has warned of an agitation if these backlog posts are not addressed before general promotions proceed. A verification revealed that SC/ST lecturers were deprived of these 80 posts since 2015-16. The Social Welfare Department had recommended filling these posts in accordance with rules.

लेक्चरर और कर्नाटक राज्य सरकार SC/ST कर्मचारी संघ, स्कूल शिक्षा विभाग की प्रिंसिपल पदों पर सामान्य पदोन्नति की योजना का विरोध कर रहे हैं। उनका आरोप है कि SC/ST उम्मीदवारों के लिए आरक्षित 80 बैकलॉग रिक्तियों को प्राथमिकता के आधार पर पदोन्नति के माध्यम से नहीं भरा गया है। संघ ने चेतावनी दी है कि यदि सामान्य पदोन्नति से पहले इन बैकलॉग पदों को संबोधित नहीं किया गया तो आंदोलन किया जाएगा। एक सत्यापन से पता चला कि SC/ST लेक्चररों को 2015-16 से इन 80 पदों से वंचित रखा गया था। समाज कल्याण विभाग ने नियमों के अनुसार इन पदों को भरने की सिफारिश की थी।
