West Bengal Lawyers, CPI(M) Offices Attacked; Mamata Condemns Violence

Several lawyers and Communist Party of India (Marxist) offices in West Bengal have faced attacks in recent days. Senior advocate Shamim Ahmed was allegedly vandalised and attacked with sharp objects outside a police station in Paschim Medinipur district while providing legal aid. Similar incidents targeting lawyers have been reported at Bankshall and Baruipur Courts. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee called the attacks 'unacceptable' and noted intervention by the Calcutta High Court Chief Justice. The CPI(M) also alleged attacks by BJP supporters on its leaders and offices.

हाल के दिनों में पश्चिम बंगाल में कई वकील और Communist Party of India (Marxist) के दफ्तरों पर हमले हुए हैं। वरिष्ठ वकील शमIm अहमद पर कथित तौर पर पश्चिम मेदिनीपुर जिले में एक पुलिस स्टेशन के बाहर नुकीली चीजों से हमला और तोड़फोड़ की गई, जब वे कानूनी सहायता दे रहे थे। Bankshall और Baruipur Courts में भी वकीलों को निशाना बनाने वाली ऐसी ही घटनाएं सामने आई हैं। पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री Mamata Banerjee ने इन हमलों को 'अस्वीकार्य' बताया और Calcutta High Court के Chief Justice द्वारा हस्तक्षेप का उल्लेख किया। CPI(M) ने BJP समर्थकों द्वारा अपने नेताओं और दफ्तरों पर हमलों का भी आरोप लगाया है।
