MLAs in Tamil Nadu will receive a 71% increase in their monthly emoluments, raising their total package from Rs 1.05 lakh to Rs 1.80 lakh. This revision, following Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay's announcement, will cost the state exchequer an additional Rs 17 crore annually. The changes include a tripled monthly vehicle allowance to Rs 75,000 and a new Rs 25,000 personal assistance allowance. The amendment was prompted by a request from an MLA highlighting the financial struggles of first-time legislators in performing their duties.

तमिलनाडु के विधायकों के मासिक वेतन में 71% की बढ़ोतरी होगी, जिससे उनका कुल पैकेज ₹1.05 लाख से बढ़कर ₹1.80 लाख हो जाएगा। मुख्यमंत्री सी. जोसेफ विजय की घोषणा के बाद हुए इस संशोधन से राज्य के खजाने पर सालाना ₹17 करोड़ का अतिरिक्त बोझ पड़ेगा। इसमें मासिक वाहन भत्ते को तीन गुना बढ़ाकर ₹75,000 और ₹25,000 का नया व्यक्तिगत सहायक भत्ता शामिल है। यह संशोधन एक विधायक के अनुरोध पर किया गया था, जिसमें पहली बार चुने गए विधायकों को अपने कर्तव्यों का पालन करने में होने वाली वित्तीय कठिनाइयों पर प्रकाश डाला गया था।
