Indian pilot Smit Machchhar has detailed a harrowing mid-flight attack by his co-pilot aboard a Flydubai aircraft. Machchhar was performing routine checks when he was repeatedly struck on the head, initially mistaking the blows for aircraft damage. He realized he was being attacked and attempted to alert another captain on board while trying to open the cockpit door. Despite losing consciousness due to blood loss, he managed to open the door before the aircraft began to dive.
