BJP Kin Enter Jhunjhunu Polls After District Chief Post Reserved For Women

Several women from the families of BJP functionaries have entered the Zila Parishad elections in Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan, following the district chief's post being reserved for women. This has brought family-based politics into focus. Among the candidates are daughters-in-law of former MP Narendra Kumar, Harshini Kulhari and Anamika, and Diksha Ahlawat, daughter-in-law of former MP Santosh Ahlawat. The nominations raise questions about whether women's reservation is primarily benefiting women from established political families. Other candidates include wives and daughters of former party officials.

राजस्थान के झुंझुनू में जिला प्रमुख का पद महिलाओं के लिए आरक्षित होने के बाद भाजपा पदाधिकारियों के परिवार की कई महिलाएं जिला परिषद चुनाव में उतर गई हैं। इससे परिवारवाद की राजनीति चर्चा में आ गई है। उम्मीदवारों में पूर्व सांसद नरेंद्र कुमार की बहुएं हर्षिनी कुलहरी और अनामिका, तथा पूर्व सांसद संतोष अहलावत की बहु दीक्षा अहलावत शामिल हैं। नामांकन से यह सवाल उठ रहा है कि क्या महिलाओं के आरक्षण का फायदा मुख्य रूप से स्थापित राजनीतिक परिवारों की महिलाओं को ही मिल रहा है। अन्य उम्मीदवारों में पूर्व पार्टी पदाधिकारियों की पत्नियां और बेटियां भी शामिल हैं।
