Odisha Evacuates 48,000 People From Eight Districts Ahead Of Cyclone Arnab

Odisha is evacuating 48,000 people from eight southern districts in anticipation of the very severe cyclonic storm 'Arnab'. The cyclone, moving at 22 kmph, is expected to impact Malkangiri district when it crosses the Andhra Pradesh and Yanam coasts. Special Relief Commissioner Rajesh Pravakar Patil stated that 11,000 people each will be evacuated from Nabarangpur and Gajapati districts, with further evacuations planned in Malkangiri, Ganjam, and Koraput. The state has deployed disaster response teams and disbursed Rs. 19 crore for emergency expenses.

बहुत गंभीर चक्रवाती तूफान 'अर्नाब' की आशंका के मद्देनजर ओडिशा आठ दक्षिणी जिलों से 48,000 लोगों को निकाल रहा है। 22 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार से आगे बढ़ रहा यह तूफान आंध्र प्रदेश और यानम तटों को पार करते समय मलकानगिरी जिले को प्रभावित करेगा। विशेष राहत आयुक्त राजेश प्रभाकर पाटिल ने बताया कि नबरंगपुर और गजपति जिलों से प्रत्येक से 11,000 लोगों को निकाला जाएगा, जबकि मलकानगिरी, गंजाम और कोरापुट में भी लोगों को निकालने की योजना है। राज्य ने आपदा प्रतिक्रिया टीमों को तैनात किया है और आपातकालीन खर्चों के लिए 19 करोड़ रुपये जारी किए हैं।
