पंजाब और हरियाणा हाई कोर्ट ने फैसला सुनाया है कि महिलाओं को असिस्टेड रिप्रोडक्टिव टेक्नोलॉजी (ART) एक्ट, 2021 के तहत फर्टिलिटी इलाज का अपना हक़ है। यह हक़ तब भी बना रहता है जब पति 55 साल की तय उम्र सीमा पार कर चुका हो, बशर्ते महिला 50 साल से कम हो। कोर्ट ने साफ़ किया कि एक्ट व्यक्तिगत हक़ देता है, और उम्र सीमा पार कर चुका साथी महिला को अयोग्य नहीं ठहरा सकता। इस फैसले में ART सेवाओं की तलाश कर रहे जोड़ों के लिए उम्र की पाबंदियों को चुनौती देने वाली छह याचिकाओं पर गौर किया गया है।
