Andhra Pradesh earmarks 45 acres for INCOIS regional centre in Kakinada

The Andhra Pradesh government has identified 45 acres of land along the Kakinada coast for a new regional branch of the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS). An MoU was signed between the Andhra Pradesh Maritime Board and INCOIS, a Ministry of Earth Sciences body. The estimated ₹100 crore centre will serve approximately seven lakh people along the state's coast. This facility will provide crucial services like fishing zone information, ocean forecasts, and tsunami early warnings, enhancing coastal safety and economic activities.

आंध्र प्रदेश सरकार ने काकीनाडा तट के पास भारतीय राष्ट्रीय महासागर सूचना सेवा केंद्र (INCOIS) की नई क्षेत्रीय शाखा के लिए 45 एकड़ जमीन की पहचान की है। पृथ्वी विज्ञान मंत्रालय के एक निकाय INCOIS और आंध्र प्रदेश मैरीटाइम बोर्ड के बीच एक समझौता ज्ञापन (MoU) पर हस्ताक्षर किए गए। अनुमानित ₹100 करोड़ का यह केंद्र राज्य के तट पर लगभग सात लाख लोगों की सेवा करेगा। यह सुविधा मछली पकड़ने वाले क्षेत्रों की जानकारी, महासागर पूर्वानुमान और सुनामी की शुरुआती चेतावनी जैसी महत्वपूर्ण सेवाएं प्रदान करेगी, जिससे तटीय सुरक्षा और आर्थिक गतिविधियों में वृद्धि होगी।
