Construction on the Kazhakkoottam-Kadampattukonam stretch of NH 66 has restarted after months of delay, though material shortages, labour scarcity, and adverse weather continue to pose challenges. With approximately 70% of the work completed, the immediate focus is on bridge structures before progressing to the main carriageway. RKC Infrabuild Structures Pvt Ltd has taken over project execution, aiming for full-fledged work by November. The project is targeted for completion by October 2027, but supply chain issues from Tamil Nadu and labour availability post-holidays are significant concerns.
