Ex-Maoist Translates Umar Khalid Thesis Into Telugu

Former CPI (Maoist) state committee member Ravi Narla is translating Umar Khalid's PhD thesis, 'Fractured Communities: Adivasi Histories and the Politics of Power,' into Telugu. The thesis, a study of tribal communities in Jharkhand during the British era, was published as a book in June 2026. Narla, who has prior translation experience, aims to release the Telugu version by December for the Hyderabad book fair. This marks the first translation of Khalid's work into another language. Narla anticipates no resistance to his translation efforts.
