Terror Funding Case: Delhi High Court Reserves Verdict on Engineer Rashid's Bail Plea

The Delhi High Court has reserved its decision on the bail petition of Abdul Rashid Sheikh, also known as Engineer Rashid, a Member of Parliament from Baramulla. Rashid has been in custody since August 2019 in a terror funding case investigated by the NIA under the UAPA. His lawyer argued that he has been imprisoned for approximately seven years and cited the case of another accused, Shabir Ahmad Shah, who received bail in March 2026.

दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने बारामूला से सांसद अब्दुल रशीद शेख, जिन्हें इंजीनियर राशिद के नाम से भी जाना जाता है, की जमानत याचिका पर अपना फैसला सुरक्षित रख लिया है। राशिद अगस्त 2019 से NIA द्वारा UAPA के तहत जांचे जा रहे एक आतंकवादी फंडिंग मामले में हिरासत में हैं। उनके वकील ने दलील दी कि वह लगभग सात साल से जेल में हैं और उन्होंने एक अन्य आरोपी, शब्बीर अहमद शाह के मामले का हवाला दिया, जिसे मार्च 2026 में जमानत मिली थी।
