IT Secretary S Krishnan has emphasized the need for a balanced approach in utilizing artificial intelligence models. He warned that proprietary AI models carry risks, including potential data transfer and the models learning from user data. Krishnan stated that India, being an open nation economically and socially, is employing a combination of AI models. This strategy aims to safeguard the country's overall strategic autonomy while acknowledging the inherent risks associated with proprietary systems. The secretary highlighted the importance of being aware of these risks when proprietary models are used.
