सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने चुनाव आयोग (ECI) के फैसले लेने की प्रक्रिया को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका पर जल्द सुनवाई के लिए सहमति दे दी है। याचिका में आरोप लगाया गया है कि ECI अपनी शक्तियों का इस्तेमाल कानूनी तौर पर जरूरी सामूहिक निर्णय लेने की प्रक्रियाओं का पालन किए बिना कर रहा है। वरिष्ठ वकील विकास सिंह ने बेंच के सामने दलील दी कि फैसले सर्वसम्मति से या बहुमत से लिए जाने चाहिए। यह याचिका ECINet, ECI के डिजिटल प्लेटफॉर्म को लेकर चल रहे विवाद और चुनाव आयुक्तों द्वारा डेटा के केंद्रीकरण पर उठाई गई चिंताओं के बीच आई है।
