BJP MLA Urges BMC to Adopt Output-Based System for Hospital Housekeeping Services

Mumbai BJP MLA Mihir Kotecha has written to BMC chief Ashwini Bhide, advocating for an output-based empanelment system for housekeeping services in civic hospitals. He cited alleged irregularities in tenders worth Rs 45 crore earlier this year. Kotecha proposed empanelling multiple agencies transparently to foster competition and improve service quality, suggesting no single agency should get more than two or three hospital contracts. He stressed the need for essential services to continue uninterrupted while reforms are implemented, urging policy changes in the public interest.

मुंबई बीजेपी विधायक मिहिर कोटेचा ने बीएमसी कमिश्नर अश्विनी भिडे को चिट्ठी लिखकर कहा है कि सरकारी अस्पतालों में हाउसकीपिंग सेवाओं के लिए आउटपुट-आधारित पैनल बनाने का सिस्टम लाया जाए। उन्होंने इस साल ₹45 करोड़ के टेंडरों में कथित गड़बड़ियों का हवाला दिया। कोटेचा ने कहा कि कई एजेंसियों को पारदर्शी तरीके से पैनल में शामिल किया जाना चाहिए ताकि प्रतिस्पर्धा बढ़े और सेवाओं की क्वालिटी सुधरे। उन्होंने सुझाव दिया कि किसी एक एजेंसी को दो या तीन से ज़्यादा अस्पतालों के कॉन्ट्रैक्ट नहीं मिलने चाहिए। उन्होंने कहा कि सुधार लागू होने तक ज़रूरी सेवाएं बिना रुके चलती रहनी चाहिए और जनहित में नीतियां बदली जानी चाहिए।
