SBI Says No FD Rate Hike For Now Despite Repo Rate Increase
News18 Hindi · india
Despite the Reserve Bank of India increasing the repo rate by 0.25% to 5.50%, the SBI has stated that fixed deposit (FD) interest rates will not be increased in the next two to three months. SBI Chairman CS Shetty cited sufficient liquidity in the banking system as the reason for this decision. He indicated that FD rates might be reviewed for an increase after this period, potentially benefiting banks' net interest margins in the interim.
