A Mahapanchayat in Tigaon, Faridabad, Haryana, has passed significant resolutions to curb ostentatious spending during weddings and other social functions. Representatives from various regions, including Palwal, Delhi, and Gurugram, attended the meeting. Key decisions include limiting the number of guests for events like engagement ceremonies to 31 and for wedding processions to 200. The panchayat also resolved to ban alcohol and fireworks at weddings, and to replace death anniversary feasts with memorial gatherings. Minister Rajesh Nagar encouraged focusing on higher education and celebrating daughters' births.
