Contempt Plea Filed in Supreme Court Over Delhi Transit Shutdown

The Hindu · india

A Supreme Court advocate has filed a contempt petition against Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan, Delhi Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar, and DMRC Chairperson D. Thara. The plea alleges willful non-compliance with the Supreme Court's October 9 order, which directed authorities not to cause hardship to commuters through blanket transit bans. The petition states that the continued shutdown of metro stations and train cancellations severely crippled public life in Delhi. This action is seen as an attempt to bypass the court's authority and undermine its majesty.
