TV9 Hindi · spirituality

During Navratri, Kanya Pujan on Durga Ashtami holds significant importance, as young girls are considered embodiments of Goddess Durga. Devotees invite nine girls and one boy, representing the nine forms of Durga and Batuk Bhairav respectively. Their feet are washed, a tilak is applied, and a sacred thread is tied on their wrists. They are then served a sattvic meal including halwa, black chana, and puri. After the meal, devotees seek their blessings by touching their feet and offer gifts or money as per their capacity.
