Canada and Turkiye Launch Strategic Partnership with Three-Year Action Plan

Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have officially launched a new Canada-Turkiye Strategic Partnership, underpinned by a comprehensive three-year action plan. This initiative aims to bolster cooperation across trade, investment, defence, security, and people-to-people ties. The leaders expressed a commitment to deepening bilateral and multilateral engagement, particularly in areas concerning global security and regional stability. They also set an ambitious goal to significantly increase bilateral trade, aiming to raise it from $3 billion to $10 billion, and agreed to commence free trade agreement negotiations soon.
