Elon Musk-funded water filters allow Flint students to drink from fountains again

Students in Flint Community Schools can now drink from school fountains after four years of relying on bottled water. This is possible due to the installation and testing of new ultraviolet water filtration systems. The project began in 2018 with a $480,350 donation from Elon Musk to install filtration stations following the Flint water crisis. The upgraded systems are designed to remove lead, bacteria, and other metals, with testing confirming no detectable lead or harmful bacteria after filtration.
