UP Mining Officer Caught Taking Bribe

Uttar Pradesh Vigilance Establishment arrested Shamli district mining officer Sudhakar Singh and contractual employee Saddam for allegedly accepting an Rs 85,000 bribe. The bribe was to process a sand-mining application. Following their arrest on September 24, officials recovered Rs 71 lakh in cash from Singh's office and residence. The complainant alleged a demand of over Rs 1 lakh for forwarding the application, with part of the amount to be deposited into Singh's bank account.

उत्तर प्रदेश विजिलेंस ने शामली के माइनिंग ऑफिसर सुधाकर सिंह और कॉन्ट्रैक्ट कर्मचारी सद्दाम को 85,000 रुपये की रिश्वत लेते हुए पकड़ा है। यह रिश्वत रेत खनन का आवेदन पास करने के लिए मांगी गई थी। गिरफ्तारी के बाद, सिंह के दफ्तर और घर से 71 लाख रुपये नकद मिले। शिकायतकर्ता ने बताया कि आवेदन आगे बढ़ाने के लिए 1 लाख से ज़्यादा की मांग हुई थी, जिसमें से कुछ पैसा सिंह के बैंक खाते में जाना था।
