A glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) in Bhutan's Gasa district on Thursday night has caused significant damage to roads and bridges, impacting public infrastructure in two districts. While no human casualties have been reported, a large artificial lake formed downstream has raised fears of another potential outburst. Royal Bhutan Army personnel and residents near Gasa Tshachu were evacuated to safer locations. The GLOF also damaged vital roads and swept away a bridge constructed with Indian support.
