Govt Expands Census Enumerator Pool To Include Private Teachers, PSU Staff

The Indian home ministry has expanded the pool of eligible enumerators for the upcoming Census exercise. This includes teachers from government, aided, and private schools, as well as staff from public sector undertakings and banks. The Census Rules 1990 have been amended to reflect these changes. This broader selection aims to ensure a wider range of qualified individuals are available to accurately capture data, especially for the second phase which will include caste enumeration.
