India to Offer 75% Subsidy for Gold Hallmarking Centers

The Indian government is encouraging the establishment of gold assaying and hallmarking centers (AHCs) nationwide by offering significant financial assistance. BIS will provide up to 75% of machinery costs for centers in special category regions, including the Northeast and rural areas, while general areas receive 30% for private entities. Applicants must not be involved in the jewelry business, and centers require BIS accreditation.
