Fifth POCSO Act Case Filed Against Gem Granites Chairman R. Veeramani

Chennai police have registered a fifth case under the POCSO Act against Gem Granites chairman R. Veeramani. The octogenarian is also facing charges in a 2004 abetment of suicide case involving a minor. A Special Investigation Team established a prima facie offence based on a complaint alleging sexual abuse when the complainant was a minor. Police are seeking custody of Veeramani for questioning in another POCSO case. He and his associates were previously arrested and detained under the Goondas Act.

चेन्नई पुलिस ने जेम ग्रेनाइट्स के चेयरमैन आर. वीरमणि के खिलाफ POCSO एक्ट के तहत पांचवां मामला दर्ज किया है। इस अस्सी वर्षीय व्यक्ति पर एक नाबालिग से जुड़े 2004 के आत्महत्या के उकसाने के मामले में भी आरोप हैं। एक विशेष जांच दल ने शिकायत के आधार पर प्रथम दृष्टया अपराध स्थापित किया, जिसमें आरोप लगाया गया है कि शिकायतकर्ता के नाबालिग होने पर यौन शोषण हुआ था। पुलिस एक अन्य POCSO मामले में पूछताछ के लिए वीरमणि की हिरासत की मांग कर रही है। उन्हें और उनके सहयोगियों को पहले गुंडा एक्ट के तहत गिरफ्तार और हिरासत में लिया गया था।
